about Alain
Born in the Aosta Valley, I grew up in the heart of some of Europe’s most renowned mountain ranges. At the age of 14, I discovered rock climbing, which quickly became a true passion and my favorite pastime. Around the age of 17, thanks to this first hobby, I was introduced to the wider world of the mountains and mountaineering.
Today, I spend most of my time in a truly sublime alpine setting: the Écrins. I am fortunate to have turned my passions into my profession as a High Mountain Guide. I deeply enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping people experience these special moments in the mountains. Seeing the excitement and wonder in their eyes is, for me, a real measure of success. Alongside mountaineering, ski touring and freeride are an essential part of my life, allowing me to explore the mountains in all seasons and conditions.
I joined Powder Guides four years ago, and since then I have found not only a very positive and inspiring working environment, but a true family. A group of colleagues who have also become friends, with whom I share professional adventures as well as simple moments of conviviality, whether it’s exchanging stories after a day in the mountains or enjoying a good beer and a few laughs between one mountain adventure and the next.Working in the mountains has never diminished my motivation to pursue mountaineering and all that surrounds it during my free time; on the contrary, it continues to fuel my passion every day.
